FAQs
A quick reference guide for Glow services
What's the best way to prep for my appointment?
- Have reference photos ready to discuss.
- Hair should be ready for the style you have in mind. Wash and dry your hair that morning or the night before based on how you know your hair holds a style best. It's different for everyone. Only flat iron hair if you know you want your hair straight. Be light with styling products.
- "makeup-ready skin" is based on your skin type. In general, the morning of, I suggest exfoliating skin followed by moisturizing, possibly a hydrating face mask. Having a lip color of your own ready will be helpful to bring with you to your event for touch-ups.
Which areas/ locations do you cover?
Most of the artists are based in Philadelphia and surrounding areas, such as New Jersey, Delaware, etc. However, most of the artists are used to traveling for work and may work with you on travel rates and logistics. This is all based on the artist so even if a location seems far, send your request and an artist will reach out if they can make it happen!
How is Glow on Request different from other hair + makeup artist services?
Mainly, this is simply a complimentary referral service. Glow provides no additional support beyond providing a connection between you and highly experienced hair and makeup artists. Glow is not a profiting business. Each artist is their own freelance business and we are purely connecting you with the artists we believe in professionally. All business is handled and decided upon between you and the artist and can vary from artist to artist. You can always choose to continue requests directly with the artist moving forward as well. And if that artist is ever unavailable for a particular event, then Glow will be here to provide additional referrals.
Although Glow cannot claiming responsibility over any artist referral, please do feel free to send feedback on your appointment experience!
